Ruhr University Bochum is Celebrating its 60th Birthday

In 1965, the first lecture was held at this new university. Today, Ruhr University is one of the best young universities in the world – so we have every reason to celebrate.

Where fields, meadows and farms once dominated the landscape, Ruhr University Bochum was pulled up in the 1960s. Film footage impressively shows the dimensions of the construction site, where the first courses were held - in boots, so to speak.
